This is one of my favorite views of Paris. It depicts the Seine River at dusk with the bright Eiffel Tower in the background and the Pont Alexander in the middle ground. The bridge is only about 100 years old but it is one of the most beautiful. You are actually looking west as the river runs east-west going through Paris then turns north to empty into the North Sea. Note the moored barges in the bottom right corner.It is painted in semi-abstract style. The intense colors of the tower and buildings are very luminous because the rest of the painting is mostly in muted colors.
