| Northern Saskatchewan with its clear skies and pristine lakes is one of my favorite painting subjects. Nowhere are the sunsets and sunrises more colorful. This warm tableau is first painted wet-into-wet followed by dry brushing of the foreground trees, a mix of poplar and black spruce. The northern half of the Province, just emerging from the last Ice Age, has many major lakes like the Cree, Reindeer and Lac La Ronge, scoured out of the rock of the Precambrian Shield. For you eco-tourists and fishermen, consider a visit to Northern Saskatchewan this summer. See links . |
