| The foothills of Alberta and all along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains to New Mexico offer many great landscape opportunities for an artist. This picture depicts a farm some 30 miles from the mountains, although they appear much closer. In the fall the air is crisp and the structures are bathed in intense and kaleidoscopic colors. The farm is abandoned now but the land is still cultivated, probably on a leased basis by neighboring farmers. Many farms have been turned back into pasture for cows and horses and bought by "city farmers" wanting to get away from it all. Some just can't wait to get back to their expressos, golf and country clubs. |
